"It was a really crazy time. I bought a house, moved in, and my son was born, all within a few days. Then, two weeks later, I quit my job and went out on my own. In the beginning, when I was trying to figure this all out, I was so stressed about running out of money. I was always calculating when it would happen and I couldn't believe how stressed I was when money was tight. If I even had just a couple months of padding in the bank, I was a totally different person. But the stress was like a driver. It was wild. It motivated me to clean up my act and make myself as efficient as possible. As hard as it was, I didn't lose sight of the end goal, which had a lot to do with the lifestyle that I knew was possible. I wanted a business with recurring revenue where I could work just a couple hours a day and play with my son the rest of the time. It's been a little more than two years since those crazy days and, between my businesses and consulting, I have a taste of that lifestyle now. Even thinking about going back to working from nine to five in an office every day — it just seems impossible now that I know that this kind of freedom is possible."⠀
