None of this is really about the money...

"Getting that call that my dad had colon cancer, and then going to the hospital for his surgery, it really made me think. I realized that none of this is really about the money. Running my own business allowed me to just go and spend time with my family — thank goodness I had that sort of freedom. While he was recovering, I found myself thinking about all the time that I'd spent with him. The things I had taken for granted, the good times, the stuff we'd done together. I think that was when I realized, like, 'Wow, my parents are the reason that I got into this.' When me and my sister were super young, they paid the bills by doing woodworking and selling crafts on the weekends. Their example is the reason I'm an entrepreneur. That's why I have this freedom and everything else that I have now. I'm incredibly grateful for that. He's recovered completely now, which is amazing. Looking back, it was a hard time but also one of the most valuable times. You need some moments in your life to really stop and think about what's important. It helped me to appreciate where I came from, and to realize that I don't want to hold myself back out of fear. I want to make stuff, and make the most of the time that I've got."⠀

Money has no value, unless you make something out of it. :-)

Thank you for sharing this, I can deeply connect to it.
