Office Hours with Danny Grieco, Founder of Mind Hawk

Hello fellow Indie Hackers!

I'm Danny Grieco, founder of Mind Hawk. I've been in B2B tech sales for 12+ years (waaay too long :) ) at everything from startups to Fortune 500's selling SAAS, hardware, and custom apps.

Currently I provide personalized sales training and consulting for technical founders in B2B SAAS, especially to solo founders and YC co's.

I also have a certification to teach science-based emotional intelligence (EQ) and mindfulness to companies.

I'd love to help with any B2B sales related questions in areas like qualifying, demo'ing, pitching, negotiating, closing, and/or selling into enterprise.

Also happy to share insights/thoughts on mindfulness practices to keep the solopreneur sane.

I'll be holding an #office-hours session on Thursday 23th of May at 16:00 Pacific Time and I'd love to talk to you.

Share your challenges and I'll pick 6 of you from the comments to email the details on how to attend.

    Hi Danny,
I'm an entrepreneur recently starting up in a B2B Saas niche that I really believe in. The challenge is the niche is really small and only has ~100 potential customers in the US. These customers are mostly mid-size companies with between 25-75 employees. However there are also some big fish. I would love to get your opinion on how I should approach sales. Cheers!

I'm curious why such a small niche. Do you plans to expand into other markets?
Also I realise it's not a hard and fast rule but 25-75 employees would be a small size company, not a mid size.

The nice think is although the niche is small, it's potentially quite profitable. Also little competition.
Also I under represented the variability in the size of the customers. Some have 25 employees, some have 2,500. Sorry about that!

    Hi Danny,
I'm from Luxembourg, Europe and I run a subscription business startup. We deliver healthy organic snacks to companies on a monthly basis. (saas - snacks as a service)
My clients are HR manager/DHR & office manager from companies with 20-250 employees.
Currently I struggle to create a good sales script & and I struggle to close them on why healthy snacks is good for their employees's healthy mind and therefore for their business.
I do mostly cold outreach (email & calls).

    cheers,
    thank you!

    Hey Danny,

I'm dipping my toes in consulting, as well as B2B sales with https://testcheck.co. I'm interested in hearing about your favorite methods for automation...everything from lead generation to actual deliverable creation.

    Thanks.

    Hello Danny,

I have started a next generation VPN company, and I have to compete with some very big companies with a higher margin.

I want to give my users the best price and the best experience so my margins are a lot lower.

How can I compete with the giants, how do I convince users that my product is better without spending 1000s on marketing?

    Hello Danny!

I sell a b2b SAAS specialized in the influencer marketing space.

I've used outbound marketing to secure clients on the agency side (prospecting, vetting, qualifying, selling),

I'd love to get your input on the differences in selling a SAAS in a b2b environment.

    Hi Danny,

I've a B2B SAAS product and I live in Nepal. Our sales team is Nepal.

I'm always able to impress the clients with the product and do better on the sales call. But later on they hesitate to close the deals when I say we're located in Nepal. How to handle such situation ?

    Thank you !

    Hi Danny-

I sell a B2B SaaS product that people don't like to recommend because it's in a very competitive industry. I do well with the 1-5 seats market but struggle converting large organizations and navigating longer sales cycles. Would love your advice on how to translate my sales process for larger organizations.
